A Daylong at home retreat: august 22

Follow along in real time or save the prompts and activities to savor at your own pace in the days to come. This time will be centered on creating your own Dreamtime—that space between the worlds where you can tune into your body on the most practical level to hear the most simple magical things that were waiting all along. Together we’ll engage the sacred + profane terrain of the body by eating well, resting well and nesting well together with desire at the center. This day is designed to remind you of all the ways you can reconnect and ground in order to find your way, no matter what kind of pressure or demand we face. All bodies honored and welcomed.

learn how to take a selfie for your sensate self

I’ll show you how to take back the space in your head reserved for critics and make a self-portrait that feels honest + uniquely you. In this mini-session, you’ll learn how to let the light in and how to honor how you feel inside in a visual arts kinda way.

transform a simple meal into a prayer

Start the day with nourishing food + what it takes to make a decadent meal with your pleasure in mind. I’ll share how you can make breakfast into a ritual can help you ground and remember you’re a human being not a machine.

Our spaces can hold us and help us retreat into our bodies in ways that nurture and heal. Together we’ll use whatever we have around to make a cozy spot that’s just yours + ready to be accessed when you need to remember your body.

the plan

Every participant will receive a packet of DIY Dreamtime Retreat Materials including audios and links to private pages for additional content at 8PM EST on August 20, the Friday night before the retreat. Everyone is invited to participate in real time or to enjoy the activities at their own pace. Live portions will be recorded and shared day after the retreat in a followup email. Here’s what the day looks like…

solo| make breakfast (at your own pace)

Wake up on your own time and follow your instructions via email on how to set the tone of the day with a #sluttybreakfast or #breakfastlikeaprayer. I’ll include audio as well as step by step images to help you create and partake of your morning meal with mindfulness and loving attention. You’ll want to have your favorites on hand and if you have no idea where to start, never fear, you’ll receive a slutty breakfast grocery list upon completing your registration.

solo| choose your adventure (take your time)

Follow up your breakfast with a NATURE WALK or BATHTUB SOAK. Your email will include a link to a page where you can receive instructions on how to decide which option is best for you, as well as a Nature Walk Audio Guide and a BATHTUB SOAK PLAYLIST.

together| 2PM EST: sensate selfie mini-workshop (90 minutes)

Join the ZOOM Room at 2PM for a live check-in and watch-party as together we listen to a short recorded segment of a recording from Jen about connecting to our bodies from the inside out. After the recording we’ll respond in shared conversation. During this time you’ll learn how to capture yourself in the light and how to set up the scene for taking images that allow your innate wisdom to shine through. During this mini-workshop, we’ll talk about why it’s hard to look at ourselves, why we have the right to get comfortable in our skin and how positive unconditional regard is a practice that can dismantle judgment we unjustly turn on ourselves and others. We’ll also talk about composition, editing and learning how to see the human body as a work of art. Send me your images during this time, and I’ll run them through the JENerator—my own collection of presets. .

together| 4PM est: the art of nesting + napping (60 minutes)

After a short break, we’ll regroup on ZOOM for the art of nesting + napping. Together we’ll gather what we need to set up a ready-to-nap anytime station and practice co-napping while listening to soothing music. If you’re unable to join for this portion, you’ll receive the playlist in your Dreamtime emails.

together| 9PM est: closing circle (60 minutes)

We’ll gather for a final circle to share what we noticed during the day. We’ll pull cards for whoever would like additional insight and say blessings over our bodies and the deep wisdom they hold. We’ll close with lullabies, candle lighting and silence. To honor private sharing, this portion will not be recorded.

Accessing materials: All participants will receive access to a webpage where all audios + group recordings will be available for 30 days. Each participant will receive access to the webpage the evening before the event so that you’ll have access to audio guidance the morning of the retreat. The audios you need for the morning event will also be shared in your welcome email.
